On
Sunday 21st May Aldridge Parish Church said goodbye to Jean Elliott.
Jean has been employed as our church schools worker for the last 12
years, and during that time she has worked tirelessly with hundreds of
our church family and school children. Her influence and commitment to
them and our church has been immense.
In September 2000 Jean felt the need to expand the work she
was involved in with the Wednesday evening club and regular summer
holiday clubs, and transform the old hardware shop in Myatt Avenue on
The Redhouse Estate, into a permanent Christian venue where children,
young people and families could come and meet, belong, and discover the
love of Jesus. For more details go to

During 2006, Jean felt the time was right for her to apply for, and get,
a challenging job in Waltham Forest Deanery, London, and to use her many God given gifts there.
Aldridge will greatly miss those gifts, her enthusiasm and tenacity.
The
difficult work of trying to find a replacement for Jean is underway.
By way of a farewell, and to celebrate Jean's work, a family buffet
lunch was held in The Cooper Jordan School and over 300 people attended. |
